It's very hard to go through life when no one else realizes how absolutely amazing I am.

I'm not "Perfect" but I'm not trying to be
That's what I think the problem is. We generally love ourselves but then we base how "good" we are on others. On the opinions of others. After a while our standards are molded by society. I'll admit, there are time when I realize that I don't look like the girl who gets a lot of attention and my confidence level goes down but then I bounce back. This is my life(my body) and its the only one I've got. I am fully responsible for myself and my actions. No matter what I am wearing or where I am going I remember these three words "You better WORK". (and I'm very serious about that). At the end of the day you don't have to answer to anyone else but yourself and God. As long as you feel good and you feel like you're doing something right, you are.

With that I leave you "Just Fine" by Mary J. Blige

"10 Reasons why men don't take you seriously!"

An article from http://madamenoire.com. This article written by LaShaun Williams and lists/explains the ten reasons why a man wouldn't take woman seriously. I've read and fully agree with the points. Luckily I do not fit into any of the stigmas,*phew*. The ten reasons are as follows:

  1. You post semi-nude photos on Facebook.
  2. You have a personal brand but no product.
  3. You’re a “model.”
  4. You think you know fashion.
  5. You believe sexy equals less.
  6. You never buy your own drinks.
  7. You’re easy.
  8. You have a lot of guy “friends.”
  9. You think Basketball Wives is empowering. (LOL, who the hell would think that though?)
  10. You can’t go an hour without tweeting.

Improv everywhere: Say Something Nice

"For our latest mission we constructed a custom wooden lectern with a megaphone holster and an attached sign that read, “Say Something Nice.” The lectern was placed in public spaces around New York and then left alone. We wanted to see what would happen if New Yorkers were given the opportunity to amplify their voices to “say something nice.”

Say Something Nice was produced by Improv Everywhere as part of the Guggenheim Museum exhibition stillspotting nyc. This is our second collaboration in the series, the first being The Mute Button."

Boardwalk Empire Is Bringing Back Old School Subways

HBO series Boardwalk Empire returns to the airwaves on September 25th. The show Chronicles the life and times of Nucky Thompson, the undisputed ruler of Atlantic City, who was equal parts politician and gangster. They are ringing in season 2 by bringing back vintage trains to the subway tracks(NYC).
Starting on Saturday, September 3rd an authentic vintage 1920’s train will run on the express 2/3 track in Manhattan throughout September (specifically, from 12 to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays). Originally operated by the Interborough Rapid Transit (IRT) system, the train began service back in 1917 and will once again be operational. Customers who have the opportunity to ride the vintage train will be transported back in time to the Prohibition era with authentic details such as rattan seats, ceiling fans and drop sash windows, as well as a custom branded interior featuring Boardwalk Empire-inspired period artwork.
This will be around for four weekends, running through the 25th of September, and will be making stops at 96th, 72nd, and Times Square-42nd street stations only. I am very excited about this. I do not watch Boardwalk Empire but I just want to see how the old train looks & feels.
I may have faith to make mountains fall but if I lack love then I am nothing at all.

This quote is very relevant to me and my life right now. Self love is what sparks the drive and ambition. It is motivation.

I feel bad

Crackle nail polish

I haven't posted about a product in a while so this post is dedicated to The crackle nail polish. What you do is put one solid coat of another nail polish on your nails. Then put the crackle nail polish over it, It dries cracked and your original coat shows through. You can but one at any drug store/pharmacy/ even online.

So I bought one, used it and my nails looked nothing like in the advertisements. I have no idea why. I may have done it wrong but it still looked different than the photos, not even close. It did have a cool effect, but not the effect I exactly wanted

A few days later, my bestfriend texted me a photo of her nails after she used the nail polish she bought:

As you can see, her nail polish is a different brand from mine. That must be why hers came out better! But all conspiracy theories to the side, she's been painting her own nails for quite some time and is always creative when she does so. I, on the other hand, have nooooo nail painting skills. But heres a suggestion for everyone, If you use this nail polish put ONE coat(of it) over you initial nail color. just let it dry. Based on my best friends photos, I highly recommend everyone at least try crackle nail polish. Feel free to send me photos at kearahj@gmail.com. I want this to become a project!
