New York City Restaurant Week

NYC Restaurant Week
NYC Restaurant Week is New York City's original dining celebration. As the country's first-ever restaurant week, it debuted in 1992 when it was developed as a one-time culinary event to welcome the Democratic National Convention (DNC) to the City. Though created to appeal to delegates and other DNC attendees, the program—with 95 participating restaurants—also found a strong following among residents excited to dine at some of the City’s top restaurants for a fraction of the usual cost—$19.92 for a three-course lunch—and who wanted NYC Restaurant Week to be a recurring event.
Over the past 20 years, NYC Restaurant Week has grown tremendously yet has remained committed to giving visitors and residents the opportunity to experience the quality, variety and hospitality that embody the NYC dining experience.
With more than 320 restaurants participating this summer—a new record—there are even more reasons to celebrate NYC Restaurant Week, one of the City’s most exciting and anticipated events, and a pioneer in the dining community.
Celebrate the 20th annual NYC Restaurant Week July 11–24* with $24.07 lunch, $35 dinner, events, giveaways and more.
*Saturdays excluded; Sundays optional. Beverages, gratuities and taxes are not included.

29 ways to stay creative

I feel this is more like "29 ways to stay alive" I don't agree with all of the points like "drinking coffee" but some are things everyone should do.
"A friend should be one in whose understanding and virtue we can equally confide, and whose opinion we can value at once for its justness and its sincerity."
                                                                            Robert Hall
We should be able to fully and understand trust those who we label as our friends.

The mango pineapple smoothie from McDonald's

is delicious! It is honestly the best I've tasted from McDonald's. It is the third of the Real fruit smoothies at mickey D's. The first two being the Strawberry banana smoothie and the Wild berry smoothie, which were introduced last year. The first two do taste good but not as good as this one. The Mango Pineapple Real Fruit Smoothie features A fusion of sweet ripe mango and juicy pineapple blended with creamy, low-fat yogurt and ice. Customers can request to buy the smoothie without the yogurt. While drinking this smoothie you taste the rich flavors of mango and pineapple equally. It is the perfect mix, especially for those who love fruit. The latest addition to the smoothie selection is available in three sizes that are all reasonably priced: small size of 12 oz for $3.75, medium size of 16 oz for $4.50, and large size of 22 oz for $5.25.
Me drinking it.

Overall this smoothie is delicious. I am very happy to have drank it, lol. I highly recommend it.

All natural for the summer part 2 !

My hair is naturally thick and DRY ! In this video I discuss what products I'm going to use in my hair and even show you guys how I use it. When most people think natural hair they probably think long curly afro. But that's not always the case, not all women wake up that way. Not all women are Japanese/Native American/Jamaican/German/Irish all in one, I certainly am not and it takes work to get the look I want.

All natural for the summer(Part 2)- Moisturizing my hair

Natural hair is the basically newest trend, a lot people are doing it. It's also a healthy trend, its not "just because" and I love that about it. What I don't like, however is an old trend. The old trend of jumping on the band wagon! Women now-a-days are wearing weaves and wigs to get the natural look! Natural hair is not about the look its the feel. The way you feel inside. It's about embracing who you are naturally and what you were born with. It's about not feeling inferior to what society labels as beautiful. Do NOT fake a fro! Just DON'T.

Look of the week! "Basically Classy"

This look is actually not from this week. Ooops I cheated, lol. But I was going through my photos and I realized that I hadn't blogged about this outfit. I absolutely do not see why not but here we go. This look was casual, comfortable, and also very classy. Most importantly, this look is basic. I think all I need is a Starbucks cup in my hand. The pants, the shoes, and the top tucked in make the outfit almost perfect. I also think my red lipstick and earrings complete the outfit. The pants are from Forever 21, as well as the necklace(with a pair of glasses on it) and the Oxford shoes. The top is from H&m and the jacket is from Old Navy. As you've probably already figured out, you can get this complete look from any nearby mall. It's that simple ! I loved this look and I wouldn't hesitate to wear it. I hope I've inspired you.

All Natural for the summer: MY "Natural hair journey" !

Now I've always been natural. My hair would be called virgin. I've never used a relaxer, texturizer, flat iron, hot comb, NOTHING! I've had braids (or twists) my whole life. I've never done the fro thing though. I've never gone all out, not for longer than a day anyway. That's what I'm doing this summer. Giving my hair a break from braids (which I suggest all women who get their hair braided regularly should do). My journey is as much of a journey as anyone else's. This is going to be like a series. I'm going to make videos of different looks and methods and just on the topic of hair and post them all separately. It will be labeled "All Natural for the summer". Here is my first video:

You know how I feel about those inspirational songs.

This is one of my all time favorites. I sang "The greatest love of all" for my kindergarten graduation. I memorized the words but I didn't know what they truly meant, I mean I was only five. But now I know how truly amazing and inspirational this record is. Whitney Houston's debut album, self titled, had 4 number one singles on it. It's hard to choose a favorite among so many great tracks, but "The Greatest Love of All" is one of the most powerful songs ever written about self-preservation, dignity. Its universal message crosses all boundaries and instills one with the hope that it's not too late to better ourselves.
