Color blocking is wearing an outfit in which the same bright/bold color or similar colors are repeated. No black or white here; COLOR from head to toe. Typically solid colors. This trend has really been coming up in the past few years and, I feel, is going to take over Summer 2012. The question is: who can color-block? My answer is: EVERYONE. Any and every fashionable person can spice up their look a bit by color blocking. Men and women of all shapes, sizes, ages, and complexions. I bring this up because a friend of mine posted a status stating that light skinned women should not wear dark colors and and dark skinned women should not wear bright colors. I BEGGED TO DIFFER and I immediately thought of color blocking. Here are a few examples of the trend:
